Time to hit the books as Ryoma and Eliaria meet up three years after the events of the first season to continue Ryoma’s quest to learn about all the slimes in a world that the 39-year-old reincarnated in as an 8-year-old boy in the second season of By the Grace of the Gods, which was confirmed to be premiering in January 2023. To commemorate the announcement, a new teaser trailer and visual were released alongside the reveal of a brand new character to the series.

Yuiko Tatsumi, who is best known as the voice of Shizuku Kitayama in The Irregular at Magic High School, will be joining the cast of By the Grace of the Gods as the voice of Miyabi.

The original By the Grace of the Gods light novels are published in Japan by Hobby Japan under their HJ Novels imprint, and an English language version is also available from J-Novel Club. Funimation streamed the first season as it aired from October 4 to December 20, 2020, with Crunchyroll now streaming the series. The story is described as such:

When 39-year-old Takebayashi Ryoma dies from blood loss (after sneezing and hitting his head on the ground), he is reincarnated as an 8-year-old boy in a fantasy world. Not the greatest way to bite the dust, but at least he reincarnates! Set on this path by three major gods, Ryoma begins to live a life of solitude in the forest, studying slimes. But if you’re a fan of isekai…you know life for him won’t be that simple.
