Canadians: Check your emails for Nintendo Switch 2 preview invites

Nintendo has started notifying people if they’ve been chosen to attend a special Nintendo Switch 2 preview event.

As announced alongside the unveiling of the Switch 2 earlier this month, select cities around the world are hosting free ‘Nintendo Switch 2 Experience’ events at which you can go hands-on with the console-handheld hybrid. The sole Canadian city, Toronto, will host a three-day preview from April 25th to 27th.

If you registered for a chance to attend, you’ll receive an email letting you know if you were selected as part of the lottery system. In the email, there will be a ‘View Drawing Entry’ link that will take you to a Nintendo page and tell you whether you’ve been selected. Nintendo says waitlists will be available starting on January 29th at 4pm ET.

For now, this is the only confirmed way to try the Switch 2 before it releases sometime later this year. So far, we know very little about the console besides its overall design, which is very similar to the original Switch with tweaks like magnetic Joy-Cons and a new kickstand, as well as a tease for a new Mario Kart.
