The activity of the fetus in the womb may increase before delivery, Mother. In the third trimester, the fetus can even cry in the womb. by Teman Bumil, the fetus can cry at 26 weeks of gestation. Crying doesn’t mean the baby is sad. Fetus crying in the womb can indicate he is developing well.
Crying is not a simple thing for the fetus. To be able to cry, the fetus requires extra energy from its developing organs.
According to the Midwife and Pediatric Nurse Chaunie Brusie, RN, many things can cause fetal crying. In order to cry, babies in the womb need a lot of coordination between various systems in the body, including the facial muscles to the respiratory system.
“The main thing needed for
baby crying is a sound,” said Brusie, reported by Very Well Family.
A 2004 study published in Acta Paediatrica showed that there are non-vocal and vocal components to being able to cry. So, when babies begin to learn to cry in utero, they seem to be exhibiting the no-vocal component of crying. This means that the nervous system and body work well to create a cycle of crying, from crying to stopping. Newborns cry because of the defense mechanism, which is needing something or wanting to be protected.
While in the womb, babies can cry because they are doing some movement. Crying may be detectable on ultrasonography (USG) and seen from the facial area, including the mouth and breathing movements.
