It’s time to get revved up for MAPPA’s anime adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man manga. The hit series has turned into one of the most hotly-anticipated shows of the year, and Crunchyroll announced plans to simulcast it shortly after each episode airs in Japan.
There’s no concrete timing yet for Chainsaw Man, so we’ll have to stay tuned for more details. For now we know Crunchyroll will stream the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS. There are also dubs on the way, including English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French and German.
Check out the subtitled trailer while we wait:
Ryu Nakayama (JUJUTSU KAISEN episode 19) is directing Chainsaw Man, with Hiroshi Seko (Mob Psycho 100, JUJUTSU KAISEN) on script duties and Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) handling character designs for the MAPPA production.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man” — a man with a devil’s heart.
