Champions League
Thomas Tuchel hat mit Club-Weltmeister FC Chelsea einen wichtigen Schritt in Richtung Champions-League-Viertelfinale gemacht. Auch dank des deutschen Nationalspielers Kai Havertz sowie Ex-Dortmunder Christian Pulisic (Foto) setzte sich der Titelverteidiger am Dienstag im Achtelfinal-Hinspiel mit 2:0 (1:0) gegen den LOSC Lille aus Frankreich durch.
Havertz, der für den formschwachen Belgier Romelu Lukaku ins Sturmzentrum rückte, schoss die überlegenen Blues an der Londoner Stamford Bridge schon nach acht Minuten in Führung. Pulisic (63.) machte alles klar für den Favoriten, der gleich zweimal Verletzungspech hatte. Innerhalb von zehn Minuten verließen Mateo Kovacic und Hakim Ziyech humpelnd den Platz.

Der Außenseiter aus Frankreich spielte vor allem in der ersten Halbzeit gut mit, wurde aber zu selten gefährlich vor dem gegnerischen Tor, so dass Chelsea-Keeper Edouard Mendy kaum geprüft wurde. Tuchels Mannschaft geht damit als klarer Favorit in das Achtelfinal-Rückspiel in Lille, das am 16. März stattfindet.
Noch deutlich schneller als Havertz war Dusan Vlahovic für seinen neuen Klub Juventus Turin im Achtelfinal-Hinspiel beim FC Villareal. Vlahovic, der im Winter für 81,6 Millionen Euro vom AC Florenz gekommen war, traf bereits nach 31 Sekunden zur Führung für Turin und übertraf damit die alte Bestmarke eines Startelf-Debütanten von Andreas Möller.
Der Weltmeister von 1990 hatte bei seinem Debüt in der Königsklasse am 13. September 1995 nach 37 Sekunden das Führungstor für Borussia Dortmund beim 1:3 gegen Juventus erzielt. Nach der Führung stand die Defensive des italienischen Rekordmeisters lange Zeit sicher. Mitte der zweiten Halbzeit gelang es Daniel Parejo aber doch, im El Madrigal den Ausgleich für die Spanier zu erzielen (66.).
Nicht unverdient, zumal Villarreal viel investierte. Die Achtelfinal-Rückspiele in Lille und Turin finden am 16. März statt.
