A Florida-based delivery service, Boarderie, entered the Guinness World Record by setting up the world’s largest charcuterie board.
A charcuterie board is a selection of delicacies typically including a variety of gourmet cheeses, cured meats, dried fruits, nuts and crackers arranged tastefully on a wooden, marble or slate board. These gourmet boards, quite popular in the West, are usually prepared as appetisers during parties and festivals to serve a group of people.
As for the world’s largest charcuterie board created by the Florida-based company, it weighed a whopping 348 kg. With the feat, the team surpassed the previous record of 200 kg. Boarderie crafted a gargantuan version of this popular appetiser, featuring a spread that measured 20 feet by 14 feet—169 times bigger than their admired Arte board.
Aaron Menitoff, Boarderie’s co-founder and co-CEO, appreciated the relentless efforts of his team in achieving this record-breaking endeavour. He emphasised that milestones like this resonate with their brand’s essence of crafting exceptional culinary experiences that foster social connections and spark conversations.
The grand feast prepared for the record-setting event did not go to waste. The food was donated to The Lord’s Place, a local non-profit organisation assisting homeless people.
Charcuterie boards have taken the social media world by storm lately, especially on TikTok and similar platforms. They have also been garnering attention in India as appealing appetiser alternatives for celebratory gatherings.
The latest trend in the context of charcuterie boards is the ‘butter board,’ featuring a lavish display of butter sprinkled with assorted toppings. Although the trend does allure food enthusiasts, health experts caution about the high saturated fat content in butter, implying the importance of moderation in consumption.
