There were encouraging signs during our latest coverage of Manchester United’s training sessions at Carrington, with the appearance of Tahith Chong.
The winger joined Birmingham City on loan for the season but suffered a thigh injury and was forced to return to Manchester and undergo surgery in early November.

The build-up to our FA Cup tie against Middlesbrough began in earnest on Monday…
Our official photographer, Ash Donelon, captured images of Chong working with a fitness coach at United’s base on Monday.
It is understood that the 22-year-old is still a few weeks away from being able to join with full training again but this is clearly a really positive step in the right direction as he continues his rehabilitation.
Bowyer, who has spoken of his determination to welcome Chong back into the fold at St Andrew’s, made another loan raid on United during the January window.
Teden Mengi moved to the Midlands for the remainder of the campaign and has already made six appearances for his new club.
