CNE installs machinery in the electoral centers of the regions

For this Sunday, October 10, with a view to developing the electoral simulation, the National Electoral Council (CNE) has the electoral centers ready, with the machinery and electoral party, enabled in each of the country’s entities, with the support and protection of the military personnel of the Republic Plan.

The highest electoral authority, Pedro Calzadilla, specified that between 7 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon on Sunday, 1,366 polling stations will be operating in 333 municipalities of the 24 states of the country for the mock voting.

This activity will allow to test the different phases of the automated voting system, as well as the duration of the tour of the electoral horseshoe and the transmission of the data.

In the Portuguese state, 16 voting centers will be enabled for the electoral simulation that will take place this Sunday, ahead of the November 21 elections.

Carlos Morillo, director of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of the entity, reported that they will open 46 voting tables, from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 pm. The hours will be extended if at the close of the day voters remain in queue.

He indicated that in Guanare, the capital, 5 tables distributed in 3 voting centers: the Juan Fernández de León National Educational Unit (UEN) and the Orlando Gil Casadiego and Luis Fajardo Galeno elementary schools.

The other 13 voting centers voting will cover the rest of Portuguesa, one in each municipality.

Morillo explained that in Araure the center that operates in the General José Antonio Páez Basic School will be activated, with 4 tables, and in Páez, that of the Trina de Moreno School (Acarigua), with 5 tables.

He specified that in the other municipalities 2 tables of voting by center.

The Dr. Pablo Herrera Campins UEN center will open in Esteller; in Guanarito, the Monsignor José Vicente de Unda Basic School; in Ospino, the Ospino Agricultural Technical School; in Sucre, the Jaime Carzola Basic School; in Turén, the Basic Cycle Turén; and in Santa Rosalía, the El Playón Basic School.

In Unda the voting center of the Ramón Parejo Gómez Combined Cycle will be enabled for the simulation; in Agua Blanca, the Atapaima Bolivarian School; in Papelón, the Ciudad de San Felipe Basic School; in San Genaro de Boconoíto, the Carlos Quintero Alegría Bolivarian School; and in San Rafael de Onoto, the Menca de Leoni Educational Unit.

In Portuguesa, 16 voting centers will be enabled for the mock elections.

In Anzoátegui CNE installed 82 tables in 23 schools

The director of the CNE in the state of Anzoátegui, Dichelys Guevara reported that this Friday 82 polling stations were installed in the 21 municipalities for the simulation this Sunday, October 10, within the framework of the schedule for the 2021 regional and municipal elections.

Guevara highlighted that the 23 schools that serve as a voting center, they were disinfected in compliance with the biosafety measures established by the electoral body.

The official recalled that for this exercise, Anzoátegui is one of the pilot states, where the correct operation of all the configuration elements of the electoral platform, in addition to guaranteeing all the security aspects in the voter authentication process, as well as the travel time through the so-called electoral horseshoe.

The CNE regional director explained that the “electoral horseshoe” will be activated in its four steps at all the tables and the transmission, contingency activation and totalization test will be carried out.

The CNE informed through its communication channels that this Sunday all the technical, logistical and operational elements of the Automated Voting System will be able to be tested, it will allow voters to become familiar with the voting instruments that will be used in the electoral process.

Additionally, this activity allows organizations with political purposes to test the effectiveness of their mobilization on election day.

In the elections of November 21 in the state of Anzoátegui, 1,148,647 voters are qualified, and a governor, 21 mayors, 15 deputies and 151 councilors will be elected.

The Director of the National Electoral Council in Sucre state, Manuel González, reported that there will be 17 voting centers and 54 polling stations for the simulation that will take place this Sunday.

“It is an opportunity to fine-tune all the details regarding electoral technology, that is, internal means of transmission, and will also allow voters to become familiar with the machine and the entire electoral protocol ”, commented González.

He also detailed that to date, the centers have been taken, the machines installed and verified: “we have all ready so that on Sunday the people of Sucre state registered with the CNE can attend their drill.”

In the three centers, the totalization technicians verified the correct functioning of the the transmission of data to the Regional Electoral Board of the National Electoral Council, based in Los Teques.

The presidents of the boards of both municipalities assured that they also received the biosecurity kit to prevent contagion of covid-19 that contains ID holder, gloves, mask and alcohol to disinfect hands, as well as stickers to place on the floor to indicate the 1.5 meter distance between people in queue.

Hernández explained that the exercise will begin at 8 am and that people must present their laminated identity card, expired or not.

In the Juan José Abreu de Guatire Educational Unit, headquarters of the JEM, they gave a training workshop to 200 machine operators for the elec tions of November 21.
