COGconnected GOTY Awards 2024 – A Recap
Every year the staff here at COGconnected vote on the best and worst of the year and 2024 is no different. In a year chock full of badass games, we’ve compiled the full list of the Game of the Year awards right here, all in one place, for ease of reading. This includes my two person favorite lists: sexiest character and everything from 2024 that can get f*cked (because they were just so awful). So without further ado, here are our GOTY Awards for 2024.
Game of the Year
Our Game of the Year category looks at the brightest and most spectacular games of the year, crowning the winner as the very best of them all.
Best New IP
Our Best New IP category takes a look at the best new standalone games. That means there are no sequels, remakes or DLCs to be found here at all.
Best Surprises
Every so often there’s a video game that comes as an awesome surprise for just how unexpected and how good it is. Our Best Surprises category takes a look at all of these.
Best Music
If you’re a music lover then buckle up as we recount the very best game soundtracks of the year in this category of Best Music.
Best Indie Game
Our Best Indie Game category takes a deep dive into recognizing and celebrating the best games that come from smaller studios.
Most Disappointing Game
Amongst all the very best games there’s bound to be some duds. Our Most Disappointing Game category highlights the worst of the year.
Most Anticipated Game of 2025
Our Most Anticipated Game of 2025 category focuses on the top games that are coming out next year, those we’re most looking forward to sinking our teeth into.
Sexiest Character
Not every game has a hot and sexy character in it, but those that do, damn. Our Sexiest Character category showcases the hottest of heroes and villains alike.
Best Performance
Have you ever played a game where the voice acting was so good you resonated with the character so hard? Those are always the ones that makes you want to replay the game because the performance was just so fantastic. That’s what you’ll find in our Best Performance category.
Everything from 2024 that Can Get F*cked
Lastly, our Everything from 2024 that Can Get F*cked category is all about the worst moments or issues of the year. Like they were just so bad we hope to never see them happen ever again.
