It ranks 65 out of 110 countries and stands out in pillars such as electronic government, but it “slits” in internet affordability

As revealed by the third annual edition of the Quality Index de Vida Digital, from the cybersecurity company Surfshark, Colombia ranks 65th out of 110 countries.
The study covers 90% of the world’s population and evaluates countries based on a set of five fundamental pillars of digital well-being.
Colombia ranks first in Latin America in electronic government (50 in the world), but obtained very low results in Internet affordability (96), Internet quality (72), electronic infrastructure (80) and electronic security (60 ).
In addition, it went from position 62 to 65, compared to the 2020 study.
However, this year it surpasses countries in the region such as Bol ivia, Peru and Ecuador and remained in sixth place in South America.
At the regional level, Chile ranked first, closely followed by Argentina and Brazil.
In general terms, Colombians have to work approximately 16 minutes to pay for 1GB of mobile Internet, significantly more than the world average (10 minutes). In comparison, the mobile internet in Colombia is 3 times more difficult to get and 2 times slower than in Brazil.
In a more general picture, 6 of each 10 countries with the highest scores are in Europe, following last year’s trend. Denmark ranks first in digital quality of life for the second year in a row and is followed by South Korea.
Finland ranks third, while Israel and the United States The United States completes the first five countries of the 110 that were evaluated in this year’s study.
The last five countries are Ethiopia, Cambodia, Cameroon, Guatemala and Angola. .
