80 percent of the officers already fully immunized

From now on, the police will require applicants to provide proof of full Corona immunization. If this is not available at the time of application for admission, it must be presented at the latest when the police doctor examines it, according to the executive’s homepage.
Of the currently active officers, around 80 percent were vaccinated, the ministry told the APA.

The police service requires people to visit gatherings, and close contact is part of everyday work, argued Helmut Tomac, General Secretary at Ministry of the Interior: “The Covid vaccination is therefore part of the responsible handling of these facts – especially as an employer to protect employees.”
