Coronavirus

The “safety phase” originally planned until January 15th at the schools will be extended until February 28th. The Ministry of Education has recorded this in a decree to the schools. This means that the requirement to be present remains suspended. In addition, regardless of the vaccination status, tests are carried out at least three times a week, masks must be worn throughout the school building and also in class (up to lower level mouth and nose protection, from upper level FFP2 mask).

The “presence mode is to be retained as a constant”, it continues. Parents can, however, continue to excuse their children for class without a doctor’s certificate.

The procedure for corona cases remains unchanged: if there is only one case in a class, the class will continue to teach face-to-face (without the positive child). However, the remaining children must then be tested daily for five days. If another Corona case occurs in this class within three days, distance learning will be ordered for the entire class restricted: Children who have been vaccinated three times or up to the age of eleven also twice vaccinated are no longer regarded as contact persons and are not segregated. The same also applies if a mask was worn when in contact with an infected person – which should be the case almost continuously due to the mask requirement in school. This means that, as a rule, only those students who tested positive are in quarantine. They can test themselves free after five days using a PCR test.

In many cases (with several corona cases in one class) children are in distance learning, but not in quarantine.
