Today there are 149,512 positive infections, down from the 180,426 recorded yesterday, January 15th. The dead are 248, yesterday there were 308. The data communicated by the bulletin of the Ministry of Health say so.
The same day a week ago the infections were 155,659 (-3 , 9%). In the last 7 days (January 10-16) there were 1,219,324 cases, up 10.0% compared to the previous week (January 3-9). The victims a week ago were 157 (+ 58.0% in 7 days).
Over 2.5 million currently positive
In total, over 2.5 million people are currently positive in Italy . According to the bulletin there are 2,548,857, with an increase of 78,010 in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total cases are 8,706,915 while the deaths are 141,104. On the other hand, the discharged and healed are 6,016,954, with an increase of 79,207 compared to yesterday.

The positivity rate
There are 927,846 molecular and antigenic swabs registered today. Last Sunday it was 993.201. The positivity rate is 16.1%, up from the 14.8% recorded yesterday. Seven days ago it was at 15.67% (+ 2.8%). In the last 7 days (January 10-16) the average positivity rate was 16%, down by -6.3% compared to the previous week (January 3-9).
