Covid-19: Inter announces astronomical loss of 245.6 million euros

Inter Milan announced this Thursday a record loss of 245.6 million euros for the 2020/21 season, due to the closure of the stadiums, motivated by the covid-19 pandemic.

This is the biggest loss ever recorded by a Serie A club, according to a website specializing in sports and finance.

The deficit is attributed to the «exceptional context linked to the covid-19 pandemic’, in particular ‘to the closure of stadiums’, which represents the most significant losses, despite gains of €364.7 million in the same period.

However , the current season “is already showing promising signs of recovery”, thanks to the partial reopening of the stadiums, transfers made in the summer or the signing of new contracts with global sponsors.
