Covid may affect fertility for months, according to a new study

According to a new study, the virus can reduce the number of sperm, which makes it difficult to conceive a child. A peer-reviewed study published in the journal Fertility and Sterility on Monday sampled 120 men in Belgium aged around 35 years old.

Research found that sperm counts decreased in 37 percent of men tested less than one month after covidom infection

One to two months after infection, sperm counts decreased in 29 percent of men tested, and two months after infection, sperm counts decreased in 6 percent of men.

“The estimated recovery time is three months, but further follow-up studies are underway to confirm this and determine whether a minority of men has suffered permanent damage,”

The severity of covidom infection did not affect the number of patients’ sperm, as the researchers added that they did not find any differences in the sperm quality of those hospitalized and those who who had milder symptoms.

As to why the covid may affect the number of permia, the study showed that higher levels of antibodies in the patients’ blood serum correlated with decreased sperm function. who desire a child should be warned that sperm quality after covidom infection may be insufficient, ” scientists concluded.
