In a recent note from the Cuban News Agency (ACN), the Directorate of Immigration and Alien Identification (DIIE) updated on the request and issuance of the Current Passport to Cuban citizens.

According to the MININT, the Current Passport is established for those who travel “for private reasons, those authorized to reside abroad and emigrants”.
Likewise, it maintains that “its use and validity transcends our borders, it certifies citizenship, the identity of its holder and the State that represents it”.
In this way, the Cuban passport, confirmed by the authorities, “is the essential document to obtain visas, travel abroad and identify yourself before the foreign authorities of the country where you are, transit and for own return”.
