Cuban passport: update on requirements for its application and issuance

In a recent note from the Cuban News Agency (ACN), the Directorate of Immigration and Alien Identification (DIIE) updated on the request and issuance of the Current Passport to Cuban citizens.

According to the information, “when it comes to minors and the mentally incapacitated, if they are in Cuba, they must comply with the requirements before the Procedures Office of the Ministry of the Interior.”

“Only by judicial sentence, where one of the parents is deprived of parental authority, its exercise is limited or one of them is deceased , the authorization of the other parent is sufficient to approve the process”, they clarify.

In relation to those who “wish to revoke the application or the possession of the passport of minors under 18 years of age or mentally incapacitated, the same procedure must be followed in terms of the required notarial document”.
