Curling 'Team Kim' beat Latvia to qualify for Beijing Winter Olympics

Korea women’s curling national team ‘Team Kim’ (Gangneung City Hall) has obtained the right to participate in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

‘Team Kim’, which consists of skip Kim Eun-jung, lead Kim Seon-young, second Kim Cho-hee, third Kim Kyung-ae, and candidate Kim Young-mi, will be held on the 18th ( Korea time) Defeated Latvia (Team Barone) 8-5 in the final play-off of the women’s four-member group at the Beijing Winter Olympics qualification competition held in Reywarden, Netherlands.

With this, Korea succeeded in qualifying for the last remaining Beijing Winter Olympics.
This competition was held in such a way that the 1st place went straight to the Olympics, and the 2nd to 4th places competed for the two remaining Olympic spots.

Prior to that, 1st place Scotland went directly, and in the 1st (2nd and 3rd place) play-offs, Japan beat Korea to get the right to play.

Korea took Latvia at their last chance and dramatically confirmed their departure to Beijing. This is the last of 10 countries to advance to the finals.

This is the 3rd consecutive Olympics.
