At the age of 91, a member of the Czech National Theater, emeritus, actress and holder of the Thália Blanka Bohdanová Theater Award, died on Sunday in Prague. The spokesman of the theater, Tomáš Staněk, confirmed this to the iDNES.cz server, stating that the last farewell will be held “in the family circle” in accordance with the deceased’s wishes.
Bohdanová was born in 1930 in Pilsen. Her mother led her to the theater from childhood. She first appeared on stage at the age of five, then underwent ballet training and graduated from JAMU in Brno. He got his first theatrical engagement at the East Bohemian Theater in Pardubice. Later she worked, among others, in the Municipal Theaters of Prague and in the EF Burian Theater. It moved permanently to the Czech National Theater in 1966. Over the course of five decades, it subsequently performed more than 80 tasks.

First opportunities to play before Bohdanová received a film camera in the late 1950s. She made her silver screen debut in the film Citizen Brych from 1958. She got a more significant role three years later in the film Handcuffs by director Karel Kachyňa. She last starred in Bastardi in 2010.
She also starred in the series Life at the Castle, Hotel Herbich or We All Have a Duty to School. Since the mid-1970s, Bohdanová has also devoted herself to the fine arts, as her acting opportunities were limited for political reasons.
In addition to the Thalia Theater Award, Bohdanová also won the František Filipovský Award for dubbing for the film Miss Daisy’s Driver
