Dead and seriously injured in collision between scooter and bus at Brunssum

On the N276 near Brunssum there was one fatality in an accident in which a bus hit a scooter. One person was also seriously injured. Both victims were on the scooter.

The police report that the accident happened around 5.15 am when a car with breakdown came to a stop along the road. Another car collided with this car, after which a third car collided with the other two vehicles. Debris ended up on the road.

A public bus then tried to avoid the debris on the road by driving into the verge and hit the scooter.

The police have not yet released the identity of the victims. Officers are investigating on the spot. The road is closed for this.
