Rumors have been swirling for months that pop icon Taylor Swift could be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as X-Men mutant Dazzler in the third “Deadpool” film.
Her name is one of several rumored to be making multiverse cameo appearances with others, including the likes of Channing Tatum as Gambit and Taron Egerton as a Wolverine variant.
So far, all of that talk has been pure online speculation. It is known Swift has been friends with Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively for a long time, and Reynolds told ET that he’d love to see Swift in the film.
Now a brief video taken tonight at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey has set social media ablaze. In the video, Swift and her entourage are seen arriving prior to the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets.
Following at the back of the group arriving? Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and “Deadpool 3” director Shawn Levy walking and chatting together. Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively and “Queer Eye” co-host Antoni Porowski can also be seen in the group.
Is this confirmation? Hardly, but it has added fuel to the speculation fire regarding Swift’s potential cameo. At present, the production of “Deadpool 3” is on hold whilst the actor’s strike is ongoing. Negotiations are set to resume tomorrow, and the film could be back in production very soon.
Swift, meanwhile, will be everywhere shortly when her “The Eras Tour” concert film hits cinemas on Friday October 13th and is expected to score one of the biggest film openings of the year.
