The President of the Party of Freedom and Justice (SAA) Dragan Djilas stated today that the statement of the head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Jan Bratu that there are conditions for holding fair elections is “one of the most scandalous assessments of Serbia in the past ten years”.
During a guest appearance on TV N1 on Thursday, he told his brother that in Norway, where he comes from, people are complaining about the election process and saying that some provisions are being violated.
In an open letter to the head of the OSCE mission published in Danas, Djilas said that he did not know what had changed compared to just a few months ago when he met at the premises
He added in the letter that he told his brother at that meeting that he could not do much, because every time he criticizes the government in Serbia, it stops cooperating with the OSCE mission.
Djilas said that Bratu’s statement on the situation in Serbia is a “great shame” because all world organizations rate it negative assessments of freedom, human rights, corruption and crime in Serbia.
“You do not notice that in the media with national frequencies, the relationship between the government and the real opposition is such that the government has hours and given the program, and the opposition a few minutes? “You don’t notice that on all commercial televisions with a national frequency, the opposition is literally satanized every day,” Djilas asked.
Djilas also asked Bratu if anyone had told him that Darko Saric, who was convicted of international cocaine smuggling and money laundering, was transferred from prison to house arrest, and whether he heard about the statements of criminals arrested for numerous murders that they were engaged in breaking up civil protests.
“And I can do this until tomorrow. I’m sure you know about all this. And I am sure that you have insulted not only us who are fighting for freedom and justice in Serbia, but also the country you come from, Norway, by claiming that the situation there is similar to that in Serbia, “he said.
Djilas emphasized that part of the opposition in Serbia realized long ago that no one would help it in its fight and that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, “corresponds to the vast majority of the international community”.
“(Vucic), who will fulfill everything that is required of him at the expense of Serbia and his people. And we are not asking for help. We will fight for freedom on our own. And we won’t owe anyone anything. But that is why many will owe Serbia and the Serbian people “, he pointed out.
