DTECTS, the Italian IoT device to combat energy waste

With the costs of the gas raw material and of the energy raw material set to increase in the course of 2022, the optimization of consumption is a priority not only for Italian families, but also for the millions of companies present in the Italian territory. The costs of the bill, in fact, risk weighing heavily on company balance sheets and every action or tool can be useful to consume less.

An example of this is the devices designed and manufactured by ‘Italian Zerynth and implemented in critical industrial processes by the US company Ergsense. The Italian company, in particular, has developed a device called DTECTS – acronym for Detection and Tracking of Energy and Condition Trends System – which can be easily integrated on different types of machinery and able to measure and monitor energy consumption and more.

DTECTS, the Italian device to optimize industrial energy consumption

Thanks to DTECTS it is possible to analyze the energy efficiency of critical industrial machinery in real time. The Zerynth device can in fact be connected to the company network and, thanks to the support and implementation in the Ergsense cloud infrastructure, the data can be consulted from any device wherever you are. In short, to all intents and purposes an industry 4.0 device designed for the analysis and optimization of energy consumption .

“The collaboration with Ergsense shows the great possibilities offered by the Internet of Things and underlines the importance for companies to invest in this direction – explains Gabriele Montelisciani, CEO of Zerynth -. Our goal is to simplify the activities of companies that seek not only to optimize their processes but also to make them with a low environmental impact “.

Moduli DTECTS

DTECTS is a modular device and can be easily integrated into any industrial process already started

Furthermore, DTECTS can be easily implemented in any production line. It is a modular and non-invasive device , which allows you to monitor consumption and energy efficiency of machinery and evaluate, in the short, medium and long term, the level of achievement of the objectives of production that the company aims for. The Zerynth IoT device sends data via Wi-Fi, cellular or LoRA connection, while ensuring maximum security. The information will thus be protected and cannot be “intercepted” and exploited by competitors or other companies.

The advantages of DTECTS in industrial processes

The device made by the Italian company consists of a three-channel power meter connected directly to the Zerynth IoT module and Zerynth Device Manager. This combination allows you to connect the machines to Ergsense Cloud and receive notifications in the event that the parameters being monitored show anomalies.

In this way you will always have both levels under control consumption of the plants as well as the achievement of the production targets established at the beginning of the year. From the analysis of these data, companies will be able to obtain information on the efficiency of the processes, thus going to identify (and eliminate ) any waste.

“About three years ago Ergsense switched from a development environment based on Arduino technology to the industrial platform of Zerynth – says Tomm Aldridge, partner of Ergsense -. This project was a big challenge for us and Zerynth’s direct support through his engineers was crucial to our success. ”
