Combining the action offered by the 1 against 1000 of DYNASTY WARRIORS with tactical elements, DYNASTY WARRIORS 9 Empires takes players on a quest to conquer ancient China, combining strategy and strength. The fights have drastically changed from the previous episodes thanks to the new feature: “ Castle Assault “.
Some Zones around the castle are in fact now transformed into a battlefield, the skirmishes evolve into “Castle Assault”, the players thus compete to take control of the latter. They will also be able to use “Troop Assist Siege Battles” to invade the enemy base, thus gaining the advantage over opposing siege weapons as they instruct their troops during battle. Once players have entered enemy gates, they will begin a “Decisive Battle” and can claim victory after defeating the Commander. However all enemy officers will then join the battlefield for one last formidable resistance, players will have a chance to face them and capture them.
Another element that will greatly influence the fights are the “secret plans”. Selected during the battle preparation phase, these are missions to be carried out during combat. Each secret plan has its own conditions for success or failure. Once reunited, it is a victory for the allies who then receive favorable effects, such as “capture of surrounding base”, “messengers”, “engineer escort” and more. Each battle is focused on offense or defense, depending on how the secret blueprints were activated, forcing players to adopt the correct strategy. Conversely, enemies can also set up secret plans. By preventing them, players gain a great bonus in combat.
