Emily Ratajkowski Says She’s Joined a Dating App

She may still be dating Pete Davidson, but Emily Ratajkowski doesn’t appear ready to settle down quite yet (which, considering the man’s BDE, feels wise). On the December 22 episode of her podcast, High Low, EmRata brought on her friend Kat to discuss her first foray into online dating, and why she decided to get on the apps.

“I was like, Fuck it,” Ratajkowski said bluntly. “I was feeling defiant because so many people told me not to get it.” The actor didn’t reveal which app she’s currently perusing, but she did explain a little bit about why she decided to join up in the first place. She wants to date a “normie.” You know, people who are surgeons, lawyers, or academics. Normal people. “So I’m on this app just to meet those people,” she said.

Though the actor has gotten a few DMs from women, “which is exciting,” she doesn’t seem, on the whole, super thrilled with the swiping life. “I feel like this app is a little bit white. It’s very white and feels like a very particular man and very particular type of woman, so I don’t think I’m gonna meet my lady crush on here,” she said.

Meanwhile, though Davidson in no way qualifies as a “normie,” unnamed sources have been saying the two are getting closer. “They are going strong and getting a little more serious,” an insider told People earlier this month. “They have a love of the East Coast in common and similar vibes personality-wise and style-wise. And it’s always the same thing with him: He really makes her laugh and keeps things fun.”

So good luck to anyone who matches with Emily Ratajkowski and needs to find an opener that’s funnier than something Pete Davidson would write
