Environment Protection Department Punjab Announces Internship Opportunities in Pakistan

The Environment Protection Department (EPD) Punjab has introduced the Chief Minister Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Program, aiming to address environmental issues such as smog and pollution. This program offers young individuals the chance to contribute to environmental conservation while benefiting from financial and professional incentives.

The “Smog Less Punjab” internship provides participants with a monthly stipend of Rs. 60,000. In addition, interns will receive a Community Service Certificate issued by the Environment Protection Agency and Punjab Higher Education Commission. This certificate can significantly enhance their applications for admission to both national and international universities.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the internship program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Background: Preference will be given to fresh graduates who completed their degrees within the last two years.
  • Age Limit: Applicants should be between 18 and 25 years old.

Candidates applying for Batch-III are required to submit a new application for consideration.

Flexibility and Accessibility

The program allows interns to complete their assignments in their own areas, ensuring accessibility for participants from all regions of Punjab. This convenience eliminates the need for relocation, encouraging broader participation.

How to Apply

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply online through the official EPD Punjab website at epd.punjab.gov.pk/cm-punjab-internship. The deadline for submissions is December 10, 2024.

Key Environmental Messages

The program promotes awareness and action on critical environmental practices:

  1. Check your chimneys for compliance with environmental standards.
  2. Ensure your vehicle’s fitness to minimize harmful emissions.
  3. Say no to plastic to reduce pollution.
  4. Plant trees to improve air quality and support reforestation efforts.
  5. Stop stubble burning to combat smog.

This internship is part of the Punjab government’s broader strategy to address climate challenges and foster youth leadership in environmental protection. Participants will have the opportunity to gain practical experience while contributing to a cleaner and greener Punjab.

The Chief Minister Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for young graduates to take an active role in environmental conservation. Interested individuals should act quickly to apply and become part of this impactful initiative to create a Smog Less Punjab.
