Project partners proposed Kruševac as a tour destination and held a meeting with representatives of the City: Mayor Jasmina Palurović, Deputy Aleksandar Jovanović, Assistant for Ecology Ivan Parezanović and directors of JKP „ Vodovod ”by Vladimir Milosavljević and JKP“ Kruševac ”Snežana Radojković. The meeting was attended by Rudiger Hartmann, Director of the KfW Office in Belgrade, Jenny Schultz and Santiago Alonso, representatives of the German Ministry, Christian Schilling from the Embassy and delegates from GIZ and KfW.

– The purpose of the visit is to tour the facilities that are being realized within the German-Serbian development cooperation, and the guests will participate in a new round of negotiations between the Government of Germany and the Republic of Serbia on the award new development funds. The focus of the talks was on the wastewater collection and treatment project, as well as on the upcoming project of integrated solid waste management and plans for further ecological development of the city. In addition to cooperation with representatives of the Federal Republic of Germany, these projects are being implemented with the help of GIZ, KfW and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia, says Jasmina Palurović, Mayor of Kruševac.

The German delegation visited the Wastewater Treatment Plant, as an example of good practice and successful cooperation between representatives of state and local authorities, and one of the largest and the most significant capital investments in the Rasina district, whose total value with the associated construction of the collector network of over 60 kilometers is 23.8 million euros.

This Project is divided into two components: 1. collector and sewage network and 2. wastewater treatment plant. The plant has three lines – a wastewater treatment line, a sludge treatment line and a gas line. The final phase of the sludge processing process is solar drying of sludge. The goal is to provide the population with sustainable wastewater disposal, through the construction of collectors.

The delegation also visited the landfill in Srnje for a new sanitary landfill).
