Takehiro Tomiyasu has told Arsenal’s official website that he has been surprised by the level of atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium since joining.
Good atmosphere
Tomiyasu has made a fine start to life at Arsenal since signing for the club late in the summer transfer window.
The right-back has immediately come into Arsenal’s starting line-up and has helped them keep a very impressive defensive record over the last month.

Tomiyasu was once again in fine form at the weekend, as Arsenal picked up a 0-0 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Japanese international was then on media duty after the game and he was asked if the noise in English stadium was the thing that surprised him the most since he joined.
“Yeah,” Tomiyasu then enthused. “The atmosphere of the stadium is amazing, especially when we play at home.

“Our supporters give us a lot of energy every time, they fight with us. We have to give them back something on the pitch.”
Improving the mood
The atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium hasn’t always been so vociferous, but Tomiyasu appears to have joined at a good time.
Arsenal’s improvement in form – combined with their recent 3-1 win over arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur – has seen the mood improve at the North London club.
Tomiyasu actually has never been beaten since he stepped into the Arsenal team, and Mikel Arteta’s side have conceded just one goal in the four games he has played.
Arsenal still have work to do though, as their poor beginning to the campaign means that they currently sit in 11th place in the Premier League table.
The Gunners are next in action in two weeks’ time, when they take on Crystal Palace – and Tomiyasu will be given another opportunity to experience the Emirates Stadium atmosphere.
