The third season of hit ITV series The Bay recently landed on our TV screens, and it’s safe to say viewers have been gripped.
The drama has became a firm favourite amongst fans, with each series being jam-packed with unexpected twists and turns.
While previous seasons saw Morven Christie take centre stage as DC Lisa Armstrong, the third series focuses on new character DS Jenn Townsend, played by actress Marsha Thomason.
Marsha, 46, is no stranger to our TV screens, and boasts an impressive acting career. As we get hooked on the third series of The Bay, here we take a peek into Marsha’s life and career…

Inside the life of The Bay’s Marsha Thomason
Marsha was born in Moston, Manchester and studied English at Manchester Metropolitan University.
She began attending Oldham Theatre Workshop from the age of 13, and continued to particpate in youth theatre productions before pursuing acting as a career.
Marsha’s first taste of TV stardom came in 1997, when she landed the role of Sally, a waistress, in fith season of BBC One series Pie in the Sky.
She went on to star in titles such as Playing the Field, Where the Heart Is, and Burn It.
Marsha has also had a highly successful career over in the US, having starred in Disney hit The Haunted Mansion, and TV series Las Vegas.
She’s also starred in NCIS: Los Angeles as Nicole DeChamps, and films such as My Baby’s Daddy, Black Knight, and Pure.
Many will also recognise Marsha as Naomi Dorrit from hit TV show Lost, or as Diana Berrigan in White Collar.
Having fell in love with life in Los Angeles many years ago, Marsha permanently moved there but returns to the UK for filming.
She married lighting technician Craig Sykes in a lavish ceremony in Malibu, California back in 2009.
The loved-up couple share eight year old daughter Tallulah Anais Sykes together.
Craig remains entirely out of the limelight, with Marsha tending to keep her family life out of the spotlight.
She occasionally shares snaps of her husband and adorable daughter on Instagram, but the star’s social media is usually used to document her acting work.
