The football stadiums can be filled for one third again from Wednesday 26 January, Prime Minister Mark Rutte confirms during the press conference on Tuesday. However, some basic rules still apply in the various stadiums, including in the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
‘For football stadiums and other large outdoor sports locations, a mandatory seat and a distance of one and a half meters apply,’ says Rutte. ‘It means that the stadiums can also be filled for one third. Of course it is then the intention that the fans are well distributed throughout the stadium.’
The director also explains that the sports competitions – that is to say the competitions within amateur sport – are again may be resumed. It means good news for the youth teams of Ajax and other BVO’s, because we can get back to work competitively.
Disappointment for professional football
On Tuesday, all professional football clubs announced that they would say ‘no’ to an occupation of one third in football stadiums. Ajax even released a statement, but is still disappointed. However, with an occupation of one third, a step towards normal is taken again.
