For the moment, nothing justifies considering a third dose of anti-corona vaccine for the entire population, commented on Saturday Dirk Ramaekers, president of the vaccination taskforce.
“There is currently no argument for a third dose for the entire population” , he said, while Belgium has just ordered new vaccines, mainly of the Pfizer type, as part of a European order. A third dose is currently administered to immunosuppressed people, to residents of nursing homes and to those over 65 years of age. But for now, there is “absolutely no scientific argument” for considering a third dose for the general population. It is also too early to think about a possible fourth dose for the most fragile. “We must first wait and see the effects of the third dose” , stressed Mr. Ramaekers.
