Goal in foreign policy: Seamless Circle

The foundation of the GOVERNMENT’s steps towards improving relations in the foreign policy that has accelerated in recent days was laid in the meetings held a few weeks ago. According to the information obtained, a broad briefing was held at the Presidency for the resolution of the troublesome topics. It was emphasized that Turkey should form a seamless circle around it. )

The main topics of the meeting are the government’s address to Armenia, Israel, Libya, Egypt and Gulf countries. formed the steps to be taken towards it. Relations with the USA and the EU were not included in the list of priorities.

FLIGHTS

Reciprocal flights to be launched with Armenia were decided as the first step. First of all, after the works to be carried out over Kars and Van, it will be on the agenda to put flights to different cities. In particular, comments were made that Van could turn into a touristic center for Armenians. In the meantime, some historical structures such as the bridge and building near Kars, which Armenians attach great importance to, are also planned to be restored. In order to reduce the pressure of the Armenian diaspora, commercial relations will be increased simultaneously.

RELATIONS WITH ISRAEL

The first step in relations with Israel was taken with the resolution of the problem that started with the claim that two Israeli tourists took a photo of President Erdogan’s house in Istanbul. It was understood that the arrest was wrong and the release of the tourists made it easy for new steps. It was planned to soften the language used as a priority. The phone call of the leaders of the two countries accelerated the process, followed by the meeting of the Foreign Ministers. It is stated that the second stage will be with the appointment of ambassadors.

NEW TERM

The crisis regarding the formation of a government in Libya is also being watched closely. It is stated that Turkey plans to further develop its relations with Libya, as it is both the Eastern Mediterranean project and the gateway to Africa. The political wing with which the Turkish government maintains close relations is expected to win the election. It is stated that efforts to strengthen commercial relations with Libya continue.

Relations with Egypt It was noted that although plans were made for improvement and balancing in the region, the steps to be taken towards this country would take time. While a new step is taken with the United Arab Emirates in the Gulf countries, apart from Qatar, Saudi Arabia is also planned to be included in this process.
