Gogglebox’s axed Baggs family now

Gogglebox stans will vividly remember the Baggs family from Essex. Consisting of mum, Lisa, dad, Terry, and brothers Joe and George, the foursome joined the show during series 16 in 2020.

However, after a two year stint on the Channel 4 programme, the family announced that they’d be leaving. Following their exit, Joe Baggs – who has since found major fame on social media – shared the reason they called it a day.

Speaking on The Useless Hotline podcast, he explained: “We decided that there were things we wanted to do that we couldn’t do while we were on the show. There is a reason why there’s not many young people on there.”

“It’s because we’re in this new age of social media that me and George love so much,” he added.

Joe then noted that he couldn’t see himself in the Gogglebox cycle any longer, “coming home every week and eating a takeaway.” Instead, he shared that he had so much more he wanted to do.

After confirming their exit reason, Joe was keen to add that his family enjoyed every single moment of being on the show, and labelled the experience as the “opportunity of a lifetime.”

But since stepping back from the sofa, the Baggs family – particularly Joe and George – have been greeted with plenty more exciting opportunities. From their TikTok fame to travels abroad, here’s what the Baggs family are up to now…

Joe and George are social media influencers

Joe has really taken advantage of his Gogglebox platform, and used it to amass a huge following on TikTok.

Right now, he has 1.7 million followers and 127.8 million likes, which has led to him bagging (no pun intended) a slew of brand deals with big names like Netflix, Amazon, Spotify, Burger King and Fanta.

As well as a huge following on TikTok, Joe also has a cool 248K Instagram followers, too.

Both George and Joe’s content is very family orientated, with their mum and dad regularly appearring in their videos.

Elsewhere, George and Joe have their own podcast called Not My Bagg, where they “navigate life’s winding roads from two distinct perspectives.”

The brothers launched it in 2022, and since then, have had plenty of celebrity guests join them.

Including Love Island‘s Chloe Burrows (which led to romance rumours between her and Joe) to Kerry Katona, despite only running for around a year, it’s been super successful.
