Google has silently cut the price of the Pixel 6a after revealing the Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold and the Pixel Tablet. The price appears to be a new fixed price for Google’s cheapest smartphone, likely to distinguish it from the company’s new mid-range offering.
It appears that Google has permanently cut the price of the Pixel 6awhich it continues to sell alongside the Pixel 7a. While the company has not announced anything, in fact Google no longer displays thePixel 6aon its homepage, the handset has received price reductions in multiple markets. Incidentally, leakers like Jon Prosser claimed that this would be the case last month, albeit without specifying the Pixel 6a’s price going forward.
As far as we can tell, Google has reduced thePixel 6ato US$349, or £349 in the UK and €409 in the Eurozone. In other words, thePixel 6ais US$100, £100 and €100 cheaper than thePixel 7a. It is worth stressing that thePixel 6aregularly dipped lower earlier this year during Google’s many sale periods.
This price cut applies to third-party retailers too, which are already selling thePixel 6aat its new price. However, Amazon has undercut Google’s new pricing in most markets. For example, the handset is available for US$329 or £315 on Amazon, unlike other third-party retailers. Please see our Pixel 6a review for our full thoughts on the device.
