Grover Zampa is adding more glitter to the festive season with its brand new wine range.
A good red is the highlight of the holiday season; it makes every party, every dish taste better. A rich, aged wine is what makes parties more happening, conversations flowing, and the bottle has to be one that’s full of flavour. But now you have five new varieties to add to your list, and the party just got better.
A pioneer and the most awarded wine producer, Grover Zampa Vineyards has brought out a brand-new wine range, Signet, and its five varieties of red. But the highlight is not just new wines — Signet is India’s first wine range to be aged in foudres, amphoras, and concrete tanks, and is one of the most premium wines of the country.
A unique one to get your hands on, this collection — in the classic Grover Zampa style — is made from hand-picked grapes grown at their vineyards, and epitomises the brand’s dedication to making wines that express their terroir. Lucky are those who can get their hands on this exquisite bottle, and enjoy its individuality.
With the most delicate aromas, all wines are unfiltered to retain their natural mouthfeel, and represent the five maturation processes used to create the range which are the expression of their finest craftsmanship. Here’s all you need to know about these five fine wines that will adorn your dining table like no other.
Signet Spectrum
The Signet Spectrum is a blend of Shiraz, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet, Franc, and Muscat with a deep cherry red colour. It’s been fermented and aged for 12 months in concrete egg-shaped tanks. A powerful mouthfeel that comes alive with liquorice and almond notes which, on ageing, evolve into a delectable note of dusted leather and venison.
Signet Shiraz (2L Foudre)
Fermented for 12 months in 2000 litres French oak foudre, this well-balanced wine emits the strong varietal characteristics of a Shiraz — black berry, black cherry, pepper, and tobacco.
Signet Shiraz (1L Foudre)
Being fermented for 12 months in 1,000 litres French oak foudre, this wine produces an intense aroma of oak and with ripe red fruits, and has a strong structure, and leaves hints of fruit and beautiful resinous pepper on the finish.
Signet Shiraz (Amphora)
A beautiful, deep garnet red that comes from being fermented and aged for 12 months in terracotta clay Amphora. This wine offers exceptional intensity and a notable freshness that is accentuated by well-balanced roundness, velvet tannins. and a rare long finish on the palate.
Signet Shiraz (24 months French Barriques)
If you’re into dry reds, you won’t find a wine more suited and palatable than this one. Matured in 225 litres French oak barrels for 24 months and 12 months in bottle, it delivers rich aromas of red berry, prune, vanilla, tobacco, and hints of violet that mingle elegantly, giving a leathery character and a deep level of complexity.
A reflection of passion that Grover holds for wine making, these wines will be elegantly packed in a mono carton and will be wax sealed, making it India’s most premium wine.
