It has long been known that Game of Thrones will receive a prequel. Now the streaming service HBO is showing the first teaser.
We are at a time 200 years before Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark and Tyrion Lannister. “House of the Dragon” is about the prehistory of the family Targaryen, i.e. the ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke).
The first trailer doesn’t reveal much about the story, but shows the most important characters: King Viserys I. Targaryen (played by Paddy Considine ), his daughter Rhaenyra Targaryen (played by Emma D’Arcy), his brother Daemon Targaryen (played by Matt Smith) and the hand of the king: Otto Hightower (played by (Rhys Ifans).
Also included are Alicent Hightower, Otto Hightower’s daughter, the famous seafarer Corlys Velaryon (also known as the sea serpent) and his wife Rhaenys Velaryon (nee Targaryen)
According to HBO there will be ten episodes of “House of the Dragon” for the time being. The series has been announced for the year 2022 .
