Saturnino de la Fuente Garcia
– the oldest man in the world has passed away. In September last year, Guinness World Records officially declared the pensioner the oldest living man. February 11, 1909 was Saturnino – and took over the title from the deceased at the age of 112 Puerto Rican Emilio Flores. Before the world record holder complete another year of life but now he died surrounded by his family.
The news agency Europa Press quoted the relatives of the former shoe factory employee. So let Saturninos Life this Tuesday “dated like a candle within a few seconds”. More detailed information on the cause of death is not known to date. The Spaniard is said to have died in the house of one of his daughters in the Spanish city of León. The oldest man in the world survived three of his eight children during his time on earth. During his lifetime he was able to enjoy 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Even older than Saturnino has become Jiroemon Kimura in the past. The Japanese holds an all-time record at the proud age of 116. Since 2012 he has been considered the man with the highest reached age ever. He died in June 2013 as a result of pneumonia.
