Naji Sarhan, said that the government delegation in Cairo agreed with Egyptian officials on a number of important issues related to the reconstruction process, the most prominent of which is the start of preparations for the establishment The first residential city within the Egyptian grant in the “American” area, west of Al-Atatra neighborhood in Beit Lahia, after the completion of the necessary plans and designs, which also include the development of the street connecting from Al-Atatra intersection in the east to Al-Rasheed Street in the west, in addition to the reconstruction of Al-Rasheed Street, which began It has been working for nearly two weeks, as well as the start of preparations for the construction of a bridge over the Shujaiya junction.

Sarhan said, in a press statement that was copied by “Ray Al-Youm” that the government delegation has received a copy of it. Holding a series of meetings with Egyptian officials, during which it was agreed to operate the largest number of local contracting companies, and to introduce all materials necessary for reconstruction from the Rafah crossing, in order to ensure the operation of local factories of concrete, asphalt, etc. Say the contractors and businessmen through the Rafah crossing.

Sarhan expected that tenders for the development of Al-Rasheed Street would be launched within the current month, provided that the reconstruction of the street would be completed within the shortest time. Six months ago, he indicated that there was an understanding on implementation mechanisms and bidding to ensure the implementation of all works with the required quality and in accordance with the approved specifications, which are now ready through the Egyptian Reconstruction Committee and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. Sarhan confirmed that work is currently underway to prepare infrastructure plans for the Shujaiya junction area, which will witness the installation of a bridge to contribute to addressing the stifling traffic problem. By overcoming all obstacles and facilitating the tasks of all parties working in reconstruction projects, a higher coordination committee is chaired by his ministry, and includes the Ministry of Local Government, the competent municipalities, and the relevant authorities following up on the implementation of the Egyptian grant projects, which include three residential cities, the first will be west of Beit Lahia and the second west of Jabalia in the Karama area The third will be in the Al-Zahra area, south of Gaza City, in addition to the construction of bridges and roads.”

Regarding the reconstruction of the residential towers, Sarhan explained that the government delegation demanded that the Egyptian officials start the process of reconstructing these towers, or at least that the Egyptian crews contributed to removing their rubble, noting that the Egyptians promised to place it within Priorities.
