What was once an eerie, early pandemic window into the human-touch-less reality that would be the coming months of quarantine, Too Hot to Handle, now in its third season, has evolved into a Netflix franchise with the ability to rocket launch Instagram influencers to greater (Instagram) heights.
The premise of the show hasn’t changed: sexy singles are tricked into thinking they’ve signed up for a fun reality show a la Love Island, when in fact they are on a game show in which any touching, kissing, or sex with their fellow contestants will result in a deduction from the communal winnings pot. Do we believe at this point that they truly think they’re in the same villa to film a different show? Well, Netflix filmed Seasons Two and Three back-to-back in the winter of 2021 in order to prevent the cast from (hopefully) catching on. This means that a lot has changed for the cast since they shot the show, and that they’ve had to keep any evidence of their love lives off of social media since production wrapped.
