Holland Talks “Spider-Man 4” Possibility

More Tom Holland Spider Man Future Talk
Sony Pictures

All three screen Spider-Man stars – Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland – teamed for a recent video interview for Deadline this week to talk up the recent success of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.

‘No Way Home’ is Holland’s final film in his contract with Sony Pictures and the actor has previously hinted he may walk away from the role. So, during the conversation, the question did come up of whether he’d reprise the role in the future:

“The truthful answer – and I’ve done a whole press tour where all I do is lie – the truth is, and you’re not going to like the truth, is I don’t know the answer to that question.

[‘No Way Home’], for me, was as special as an experience could ever be…I don’t know, there’s part of me that feels like it’s the perfect time to jump off the building and swing off into the sunset, and let the next lucky young kid come in to don the suit.

I know I love this character. I know I’m not ready to say goodbye. But if it is time to say goodbye, I will do so proudly knowing that I have achieved everything I wanted to as this character… So, if it’s time, it’s time. If it’s not, it’s not.”

The film does end with effectively a clean slate from which someone else might come along, even as plenty of people are very keen to see Holland back in the part.
