Honor folding phone has Google services on board

Honor is working on a foldable smartphone that resembles the Huawei Mate X2 in design. According to a recent post on the Chinese Weibo

. Honor has regained access to Google services after years of restrictions. That’s because Honor is no longer part of ex-parent company Huawei.

Huawei is suspected of spying for the Chinese government. That is why the company is no longer allowed to use Google services since 2019, among other things. Honor was dragged into this. Smartphone sales plummeted and the Western end for Honor seemed imminent. However, Honor has been completely separate from Huawei for a few months and so the company seems to be slowly but surely clambering back up.

A foldable smartphone from Honor has reportedly been planned for some time, but the launch was canceled due to COVID-19. This device was known in the corridors as the Honor Magic Fold. That name has now changed; According to the source, the device will soon be known as the Honor Magic X. Furthermore, little is known about the smartphone.

Now that Honor smartphones can once again offer the full Android experience, the phones are once again accessible to the general public. The smartphone manufacturer has had a lot of success on Dutch soil in the past. We therefore certainly think that the company will soon be selling smartphones in the Netherlands again.

Honor recently announced the Honor 50 for Europe. The device will be released in October. However, it is not yet known for which countries this applies exactly. If the device comes to the Netherlands, there is a chance that the folding phone will also be available in the Netherlands one day.
