Canon is presenting this Wednesday (19) the EOS R5 C, its new hybrid camera that integrates the cinematic capabilities of the family EOS Cinema to the advanced features of EOS R5 , resulting in a high-performance device with state-of-the-art processing that increases the quality of the materials produced.
The EOS R5 C, like the original model, it is based on a 45 MP Full Frame 3:2 CMOS sensor
which records videos in RAW format at the maximum resolution of 8K with 12 bits and rates of 30 FPS (battery) or 60 FPS (connected to power). There is also support for 4K resolution at 120 FPS which maintains core functions such as Dual Pixel autofocus.
The sensor also carries smart features for autofocus, such as the Eye AF and the EOS iTR AF X. In addition, the component has an integrated five-axis electronic stabilization system that, paired with the optical stabilization lenses, ensure high efficiency to attenuate residual movements and maintain the fluidity of the shots.
The camera records video in wide dynamic range (HDR) formats — including Canon Log 3, PQ, and HLG — and supports proprietary 10-bit XF-AVC at 810 Mbps and MP4 export. In the same sense, the management of the generated files is efficiently managed thanks to the standard 12-bit Cinema RAW Light mode.
The DIGIC processor X makes shooting in night scenes not an issue for the EOS R5 C. With more efficient noise attenuation, the sensor achieves ISO sensitivity of 51,200, in addition to supporting 10-bit HEIF captures.

13 OctWith a compact magnesium alloy design and weighing just 680 grams, the EOS R5 C is water resistant and dust. There is a 0.5-inch OLED touchscreen with high resolution (5.76 million dots) that allows you to preview recordings. The device offers two memory card slots: 1 CFexpress and 1 SD UHS-II.
The camera has the RF Mount system , therefore, it is compatible with many third-party anamorphic lenses, as well as accessories from the Canon RF, EF, Cinema lines and the new Canon RF Dual Fisheye 5.2mm lens.
The factor that best corroborates the term “hybrid” in its name is the presence of two distinct operating systems for capturing photos and recording videos — EOS R and Cinema EOS. To toggle there is a switch that also serves as a power controller.
Price and Availability
The Canon EOS R5 C will be launched in the European market with suggested price of 5,129 euros , that is, around R$ 32 thousand. Pre-sale will be open from this Wednesday (19). Camera deliveries will start in April 2022.
