After almost two months of searching, FRF has found a new selector, and Edi Iordănescu will be officially announced on Tuesday , January 25th.
Răzvan Burleanu and Mihai Stoichiță had a difficult mission after Mirel Rădoi announced that he no longer wants to continue on the technical bench of the national team. FRF officials were hit, in turn, by the refusals of Gica Hagi, Răzvan Lucescu, Dan Petrescu and Ladislau Boloni.
However, Florin Prunea claims that if his former colleagues from the “Golden Generation” accepted the position of coach, Mihai Stoichiță did not have the same decision-making power in the national teams. Also, the former Romanian international wanted to offer advice to Edi Iordănescu in the relationship with the FRF leaders.
Plum: “Rădoi sounded the alarm”
“Stoichiță takes the bullet went through his ear! Hagi if he came, Petrescu if he came, he was no longer there. Even Boloni! Rădoi sounded the alarm and we saw the circus, plus the swearing at Mutu. I don’t know if Burleanu fired him, but he didn’t get close to the national teams.
Edi to it only goes to him and to those he knows very well and they want the best for him ”, Florin Prunea told ProSport.
Throughout his career, Edi Iordănescu also trained Fortuna Brazi, FC Târgu Mureș, Pandurii Târgu Jiu, CSKA-Sofia, Astra Giurgiu, CFR Cluj, Gaz Metan Mediaș and FCSB. The coach has three trophies in his record, the title in League 1 and two Romanian Super Cups, all won with CFR Cluj.
