Drinking water in 16 villages in Veliko Tarnovo district has poor chemical and microbiological indicators.

Inspectors from the Regional Health Inspectorate examined 32 samples of drinking water in the Veliko Tarnovo region in the last quarter of last year and half of them proved deviations from the standards for chemical and microbiological indicators, National Radio reports.

In 12 of the settlements the results showed an excessive content of nitrates. In the village of Stefan Stambolovo in the municipality of Polski Trambesh, in addition to nitrates in drinking water, unacceptable car forms have been proven, as the control sample was standard and microbiological contamination has been removed, RHI said.

The manager of Vik Yovkovtsi has been instructed by the health authorities to provide quality drinking water for the population in the Svishtov village of Bulgarsko Slivovo.
