Episode 1 of In the Land of Leadale, titled “An Inn, a Tower, a Bear, and a Banquet,” is the latest installment of the anime.
In this episode, we are introduced to Cayne, a girl who dies when her life support fails due to a power outage. Her consciousness is transferred to a virtual-reality game, the world of Leadale, where she wakes up as her elf avatar.
She notices how her progress in the game has transferred too and comments on how silly it seemed to be so OP. As she begins to adjust to her new life, she remembers her three foster children in the game and decides to meet her eldest, Skargo.
How will Skargo react after meeting his mother after 200 years? We’ll find out in the next episode.
Episode 2 Speculation
In episode 2, Cayne travels to the capital city to meet her son Skargo. He is a high priest in the church and misses his mother very dearly. When Cayne had disappeared, he even visited the Silver Tower to check on her but to no avail.
It will be fascinating to see how Cayne reacts to meeting her son in real life because he was just an NPC that she bought in the real world. I think Cayne is starting to adjust to her new life in the game pretty well, but there are going to be many challenges ahead.
Episode 2 Release Date
Episode 2 of the In the Land of Leadale anime, titled “An Injured Person, the Royal Capital, the Sons, and a Game of Tag”, will be released on Wednesday, Jan 12, 2022.

Episode 1 Recap
The episode begins with Cayne waking up in an unfamiliar inn where a little girl named Lytt attends to her. She soon discovers that she’s inside Leadale, a fantasy world inside a virtual-reality game.
She examines herself in the mirror and is surprised to find that she has taken the form of a high elf which was her avatar inside the game. We find out that Cayne used to be an ordinary girl who was hospitalized due to a terrible accident.
There was a power cut one day, and her life support machine went off, transferring her consciousness to the game world.
Lytt asks her to come downstairs for dinner, where Cayne figures out that 200 years have passed since she last played the game. The inn owner, Marelle, tells her that long ago, the seven nations were constantly fighting.
The battle got out of hand, and God stepped in and chose leaders amongst the people. Due to the leaders’ efforts, the number of kingdoms were scaled down from seven to three, which led to their current society.
Cayne decides to stay at the inn for a few days and heads back to her room after the meal. She examines her stats, noticing how powerful she is.
Time passes quickly, and soon it’s sunset. She heads down again for supper, interacts with the other people in the village, and meets Marelle’s eldest daughter, Luine.
After the supper, Cayne asks Marelle about the Silver Tower, claiming that it is her home. Marelle and her daughters are shocked at this revelation and warn her against going there.
They tell her that the terrifying Silver Ring Witch lives there. Upon hearing this title, Cayne becomes embarrassed because it was the title she gave to herself back when she played the game.
The next day, she heads out to the tower, where she’s greeted by the guardian who yells at her for leaving him alone for 200 years. He tells her that her son, Skargo stopped by for a visit but was disappointed that she was nowhere to be found.
Cayne remembers how she had bought three NPCs who became her foster kids by spending real money in the game.
We see that she has three children, Skargo, an elf who is a priest, a daughter who is another elf, and a dwarf named Kartatz, who is a craftsman. She then returns to a village and hunts down a dangerous bear on her way back.
The villagers are excited to see such a powerful elf helping them. They hold a feast where the hunted bear is served as a specialty, and Cayne passes out after a fun dinner and drinks session.
