Inflation in Germany exceeded the level of 4%. This is the highest figure since 1993, the Federal Statistical Office reported on Thursday.

As a result of the price increase, inflation in Germany exceeded the level of 4% in September. for the first time in 28 years. The prices of goods and services increased by an average of 4.1%. – it follows from the estimates of the Federal Statistical Office.

Energy once again turned out to be the biggest driver of price increases in Germany. cost by 14.3 percent. more than a year earlier. In turn, food prices increased by 4.9% over the last year, services by 2.5%, rents for apartments – by 1.4%. Prices in Germany have been rising continuously since the end of 2020.

Consumer prices in September also showed an upward trend in September, e.g. in Spain increased by 4 percent. compared to the same month last year. In France, measured according to a slightly differently composed European standard (HICP), they increased by 2.7%. – informs the economic portal “Handelsblatt”.
