Already this month we will know the details of the first Intel Alder Lake-S desktop processors, which are among the 12 The first generation of Intel Core systems and are the first to use an architecture based on two types of cores: Performance and Efficient. In parallel with desktop systems, processors for laptops are also in production. For a long time, information has been circulating about the premiere of two series: Alder Lake-P and Alder Lake-M. Both series will differ in the type of BGA construction and the configuration itself. Until now, however, we had an incomplete picture of what the actual differences between the various series of processors for laptops will actually be. However, Intel’s new publishing plan has entered the network, taking into account the period of mass production of new notebooks.
Intel’s new publishing plan for processors intended for laptop market. It shows that the mass production of laptops with Alder Lake-P processors will start as early as week 45 this year, i.e. around November 8. The premiere at the beginning of 2022, at the CES in Las Vegas, therefore seems to be safe.

Intel Alder Lake and Intel Thread Director – Hybrid Architecture Details 12th Generation Core processors
Laptop OEM partners are the fastest will receive Intel Alder Lake-P processors. This is the 45th week of this year, which will fall on November 8. It is around this time that mass production of the first 12th-generation notebooks will begin, which will be presented in January at CES in Las Vegas Intel Alder Lake-P processors occupy a large part of the publishing plan as they replace almost the entire segment of the U-series and H-series. The plan also confirms that the Tiger Lake-H45 processors (6 and 8-core units in 10 nm SuperFin lithography) will be still produced. When it comes to TDP, Alder Lake-P systems will be offered in various ranges from 12 W to 45 W. This means that in this segment we will receive successors to Tiger Lake-U, Tiger Lake-H35 and partially Tiger Lake-H45.
Intel Alder Lake – new information on Performance and Efficient core performance and Thread Director
Intel Alder Lake-P processors will feature integrated Xe Graphics with up to 96 EU, as well as a controller for DDR5 and LPDDR5 memory. Depending on the debut of the AMD Rembrandt APU, Intel Alder Lake-P processors may be the first to bring full support for next-gen memory. What Alder Lake-P mobile will certainly be the first to introduce for laptops will be support for the PCIe 5.0 interface, similar to desktop systems. In addition, there will be an integrated controller for Thunderbolt 4 and WiFi 6E. The release plan also confirms that the Alder Lake-P series will consist of a maximum of 14 cores, i.e. 6 Performance cores and 8 Efficient cores.
For Alder Lake-M processors, the situation is a bit different. Here, the production of laptops with these chipsets will start in the third week of 2022 (the second half of January), which means that the debut of laptops with these processors will take place at a later date. The publishing plan also confirms that units with a TDP from 7 to 15 W will receive a maximum of 10 cores (2 x Performance and 8 x Efficient). Interestingly, unlike Alder Lake-P, Alder Lake-M chips will not support DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0 interface. Instead, we will get a DDR4 and LPDDR5 controller, as well as PCIe 4.0. There will be Xe Graphics graphics system with up to 96 EU, Thunderbolt 4 and WiFi 6E.
