Jean: “I really like” Stuck On You “! I received a lot of voices. For the next eight months, I was busy with the next single as MNL48, but at the same time, I was preparing for recording and promotion for the release of Baby Blue’s latest single “HEAD UP”. You did.

Amy: Of course, voice training.

Colleen: Body care is also important, so while training to prepare my body, I was also active in livestreaming due to the influence of Corona. My schoolwork is only online schooling and I haven’t been to school yet.

──What did you think when you heard the major debut decision?

Jean: I couldn’t believe it at first. Because I’ve always dreamed of making a major debut in Japan. But recently, when I saw them featured in a magazine containing idols that I had been looking at from a longing point of view, I thought, “This is us !? Finally, my dream has come true !?” I’m starting to realize that I’m in the same field as my favorite idol.

Amy: When I first heard about her major debut in Japan, I was shocked. I was happy to be able to work with them again.

Colleen: I was very happy, and I was very grateful to all the fans and our management staff who always supported me. I was very excited to think that I could make my debut in Japan and work in Japan. But to be honest, I became nervous.

── Why are you nervous?

Colleen: Because there is a language barrier. Even though I can speak Japanese, it’s only basic, and it’s still a little bit. That’s why I’m still studying, but I’m still nervous. Is joy and nervous coming at the same time … I have various emotions.

Amy: Same for me. Even now that I’m speaking in English, I’m very nervous and nervous, but when it comes to speaking in Japanese … Just thinking about it is super nervous! I’m too scared!

Jean: I’m happy, nervous, and scared. After all it is a big thing that the words are different. But it’s not just Japanese, it’s the same in English and other languages. You may be able to become a fan by expressing your feelings in words and sharing them with Japanese people.

Jean: Actually … I didn’t expect “HEAD UP” to be our major debut song in Japan. I didn’t practice so much.

Amy: That’s right (laughs).

──What do you mean !?

Colleen: “HEAD UP” was recorded before the pandemic. It was quite a while ago.

Jean: I completely forgot what I recorded (laughs). So, I was surprised that “Oh, this song is !?”

Colleen: So I did a lot of training for “HEAD UP” during the preparation period. When I shot the music video, I remembered when I recorded it.

── In the last BARKS interview, harmony was mentioned as a difficult point in recording “Stuck On You”, but in this work, the harmony of three people The beauty stands out.

Jean: That’s right! In terms of harmony, “Stuck On You” was a challenge, but I think it was well done with this work “HEAD UP” (laughs).

Amy: The voices of the three of us are nicely blended. “HEAD UP” is Baby Blue’s first ballad song. All the singles we have released so far have different genres and different styles, but this ballad work was also a challenge for us.

Colleen: Every song has some challenge. So, by facing each other seriously, preparing, and practicing earnestly, I have completed any challenge.

Jean: But after all … I think I have to practice more. Because these two are really good at singing!

──Do you usually listen to ballads?

Amy: I often listen to Ariana Grande’s songs. I really like “Honeymoon Avenue”.

Jean: I often listen to Japanese ballads. There are many ballad songs in Japan. Recently, I really like the music of THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE, and especially “Seasons” makes me feel better.
