Italy: 180,426 new cases of coronavirus

In the last twenty-four hours, in Italy the cases of coronavirus are 180,426 and 308 people lost their lives. Compared to yesterday, but also to last Saturday, the cases are reduced.

In total, 1,217,830 diagnostic tests were performed, 14.8% of which were positive. 140,856 people have died since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 1,677 patients with Covid 19 in the country’s intensive care units, while 18,370 are in hospital wards.

At this stage, the coronavirus positive in Italy is 2,470,847. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 8,549,450 people have been infected with the virus and 140,856 have lost their lives. In total, 86.7% of the country’s population over the age of 12 has been vaccinated in two doses.

At the same time, more than 12,000 doctors and nurses have been infected with the disease. something that creates problems in several hospitals in the country. According to most scientists, however, Italy is very close to the point of maximum spread of the Omicron variant.
