Guadalajara, Jal. “We cannot, under any circumstances, stop economic activity in our state,” said the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, announcing that, despite the wave of infections of Covid-19 and the presence of the variant Ómicron, “the economic growth strategy is maintained responsibly”.

After admitting a considerable increase in active cases of Covid-19 , the state president clarified that unlike previous waves, in this one neither hospitalizations nor deaths have increased, in addition to the fact that 84% of the population in the entity has a dose of the vaccine and 66% has the complete vaccination schedule.

He added that at the moment they have officially detected 66 cases of the Omicron variant and stated that 100% have been mild and outpatient, so “the same measures should not be taken than a year ago.

Faced with this scenario, the Board of Health determined that although it will not stop economic activity, as of next Friday, January 14, activities and recreational establishments will require the vaccination certificate or, if applicable, a negative PCR test valid for 48 hours.

These documents will be mandatory to be able to enter convention centerss, casinos, pubs and clubs, concerts, event rooms and any massive event

, as well as sports stadiums where the maximum capacity allowed will be 60 percent.

The state governor clarified that the vaccination certificate will be valid with verification tion of a single dose, while people who have not received it will be able to present their proof that they applied the vaccine. The vaccination certificate issued in the United States

will also be valid .

On-site classes

Regarding the return to face-to-face classes, Alfaro Ramírez reported that it will be staggered; that is, basic education schools (primary and secondary) will resume face-to-face classes starting next Monday the 17th; the high schools will return on January 31 and from that date, the universities will decide on what date they will return to face-to-face classes.
