Japan Pension Service discovers new scandals More than 970,000 pensions received by another person are mistakenly sent

Since its inauguration in 2010, the Japan Pension Service has been experiencing a series of troubles such as information leaks and payment omissions. A scandal of mis-sending more than 970,000 cases was newly discovered on the 6th. The person in charge of the organization bowed deeply at a press conference held at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare that night. With the House of Representatives election imminent, opposition lawmakers strongly criticized “970,000 people are orders of magnitude.”

“We are deeply concerned about the fact that it is a worrying event, and we deeply regret it.” Yuko Ishikura, director of the Japan Pension Service, was chased by the explanation with a stern look.

When the reporter repeatedly asked the organization that did not declare the disposition of the staff, the staff of the organization said after face-to-face consultation, “In some cases. Is possible. ”

Kazunori Yamai, a member of the House of Representatives of the Constitutional Democratic Party, said in an interview, “970,000 people are extraordinary. I have a responsibility. ” He plans to hold a meeting on the 7th to ask the Organization and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for explanation, saying that there is a concern that it will be misused for fraud.

The Pension Organization was established as a successor organization after a series of scandals such as peeping at celebrity records at the former Social Insurance Agency. In the past, there have been cases where the personal information contained in the pension transfer notice was incorrect. In 2012, a notice was sent to about 40,000 pensioners in Sapporo City, in which the payment amount and basic pension number were incorrectly stated. There was an error in the printing program of the contractor who outsourced the shipping business.

In 2015, there were about 1.25 million information leaks due to cyber attacks, and in 2017, about 106,000 wives of former civil servants. It was announced that there was an omission of payment of 59.8 billion yen.

In 2018, it turned out that the contractor who outsourced the personal information input business was subcontracting to a Chinese contractor, contrary to the contract. Based on these, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has taken improvement measures such as strengthening the supervision of contractors, but it could not be prevented. (Joint)
